Nathaniel Ru’s Sweetgreen Seeks Further Expansion

The Sweetgreen company is striving to revamp the way people look at “fast food”. Rather than creating fattening, salt-laden, high-calorie meals the idea at Sweetgreen’s is changing. The demand for healthy, organic food is rising rapidly and this is a company that is ready to step up to meet the increasing demand. They want to be a brand that stands for something and based on consumer demand that is going to be quality, organic, healthy foods that are in increasing demand. The company wants to see future growth, so it’s going to use this method at all 40 of their existing restaurants to provide the customer with what they are demanding.

Nathaniel Ru is the founder of Sweetgreen which is a “fast food” company based around the Washington DC metropolitan area. He has worked with the company since its inception in 2007 when he graduated from the Georgetown University through their McDonough School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 2007. Ru helped design the company with the idea of a healthy fast-food joint in mind. He wanted this to be a place where people could go get good quality food without feeling “guilty” about eating “fast food” on busy days when they just don’t have time to make something themselves. He also saw the increased demand for healthier options that provide “on the go” meals to people in their ever-increasingly busy lives around the Metro DC area.

Nathaniel Ru came up with the concept of “fast-food” style salad bar that provides customers with a variety of options as to how “healthy” they want their meal to be. Customers can choose their greens, toppings, dressings, and sides to build a custom meal that fits their diet, activity level, and desire for what they wish to the consumer. No matter what they consume they can ensure that it’s high-quality, organic food and that the produce is fresh and top quality. The food also had to be affordable and accessible to everyone so that people could actually eat at this place that Ru wanted to create. Almost a decade later Sweetgreen has 40 locations in the Greater Metro DC area and is continuing to look to expand to other areas.

  1. The fact that even more people are taking the time and effort in making healthy food readily available as an option for people is really good to see. It is also amazing for essay-on-time.com reviews because of how every thing is working out for the share of information that people rely to come from them. What this will create is a situation where there will be more healthy working population and if everything works out fine, it will be good life expectancy.
